DISCLAIMER
Users of ANSI View must accept this disclaimer of warranty:
"ANSI View is supplied as is. The authors disclaims all warranties,
expressed or implied, including, without limitation, the warranties of
merchantability and of fitness for any purpose. The author assumes no
liability for damages, direct or consequential, which may result from
the use of ANSI View."
CREDITS
The ANSI View logo was made by Chris Barrett, a talented artist in both
VGA graphics and ANSI. The samples included in the package come from
various artists. Some are unsigned, some signed with handles. I wish
to congratulate these people personally for the great work they do. I
did not ask for permission to use them since there is no indication of
how they can be reached. I give them credit here instead. Programming
was done by myself with some very appreciated help from Steffan Surdek.
Thanks to everybody who contributed to this project.

INTRODUCTION
Do you have nice collections of ANSI graphics? Ever wanted a tool to
allow you to manage them? ANSI View is your answer. It's the best ANSI
graphics viewer shell/manager out there. Some of it's features are:
o Internal ANSI Driver
o Batch commands with tagging
o Animation Support
o 25/50 lines mode specified for EACH graphic
o Description for each graphic
o Sort by Name, Extension or Description
o Edit graphic using external editor
o Multiple Paths Support
o Online Help
REGISTRATION
Since this program will be VERY useful to ANSI collectors, I require a
small registration fee of 10$ US (15$ Canadian), plus 5$ for shipping. If
you own a modem, you can get your registered version on the support BBS
once the registration fee has been received (thus saving the 5$ shipping
cost).
The registered version has some additional features:
o Export to BBS List format
This allows SysOps to use the AV listing as their BBS File Area
Descriptions. Supported BBS Softwares are:
. SuperBBS/QuickBBS (Text File)
. Celerity
. Vision-X
If you want your BBS software to be added to this list, send the
filelist format to the support BBS.
o Slide Show
Displays all tagged files with a preset delay between each.
o Additional Batch Commands
. Rename: Rename files using wildcards.
. Descriptions: If you want many descriptions to begin with a default
string (group name, author, etc...), you can enter
them easily with this. It will set the description
of every tagged file to the user prompted description.
o Anything else I might add in as a registered feature in the future.
Registration gives you those features plus a year of updates free. After
your year is expired, additional updates are 5$ US / Year (8$ Canadian)
If you wish to register this software, send a MONEY ORDER only to

INSTALLATION & CONFIGURATION
Simply put the file AV.EXE in any directory in your path. The only
restriction is that you may not change the filename. The program looks
for itself in the path in order to write the configuration file in the
same directory, thus avoiding the presence of the configuration file all
over the hard disk.
When you first load the program, you will be shown the configuration
screen. Either use the defaults or change them to suit your needs. If
you want to change the configuration later on, type in "AV SETUP".
